What this site is for

It exists to help someone decide about a thigh lift. The medical system around the operation, how skin behaves, how tissue heals, how a surgical service is organised, is already documented in the hospital's subject sites for breast and body contouring and in Dr. Mao's own professional site. Repeating it would add nothing. What is often missing is the patient's side of the decision: whether your inner thigh problem is skin at all, what an incision in the groin fold costs you in clothing, what the first fortnight demands, and when the honest answer is to live with the thighs you have.

How it is written

Every guide follows one decision from beginning to end and states its limits as plainly as its benefits. Where a line can be placed more discreetly, the text says so; where it cannot be hidden at all, the text says that too. Nothing here is written to make the operation sound easier than it is, and no result is promised.

What it will not do

It will not name brands of drugs, devices or materials: products are described by class only. It will not quote prices, because cost depends on the plan and the plan depends on an assessment. It will not publish dosages or energy settings, and it will not invent credentials, awards or case volumes for any clinician.

Medical review

The content is reviewed by Tongchun Mao, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Aesthetic Surgery at Chongqing West District Hospital, and is dated on every page. It is patient education, not medical advice: it does not describe your case, and it does not replace an assessment by a qualified clinician who has examined your thighs and your history.
